Hills Showground metro station
Hills Showground metro station is an underground Sydney Metro station on Doran Drive in Castle Hill, New South Wales, Australia, near the Castle Hill Showground. It opened on 26 May 2019 as part of the Sydney Metro Northwest project and is served by Metro North West & Bankstown Line trains.
The station has two platforms and is located underground. It provides parking for about 600 cars and 40 bicycles and is accessible for passengers with mobility needs. It also connects to local bus services operated by Busways and CDC NSW.
History: The North West Rail Link originally planned a station called Hills Centre near the Castle Hill Showground. After community input, the station was moved to the Hills Centre site to preserve the Showground, and it was renamed Hills Showground.
Services: Platform 1 runs toward Sydenham, and Platform 2 runs toward Tallawong. In the future, services are planned to extend toward Norwest/Tallawong and Bankstown as part of Sydney’s Rail Future plan. Hills Showground is currently the least-used station on the Sydney Metro.
