Dominique Vidal is a French venture capitalist and a partner at Index Ventures, a global venture capital firm with offices in London, Geneva, and San Francisco. He was formerly the managing director of Yahoo! Europe.

Early life and education:
Vidal was born in Narbonne in southern France and grew up mainly in Toulouse. He studied in Paris and earned a master’s degree from Supelec, a French engineering school.

Career:
He began his career at Schlumberger, working for ten years in marketing and business development in the telecom and smart card industries across France, the United States, and Asia. He then became a partner at Banexi Ventures in Paris, leading investments in Kelkoo (a European shopping search engine), Algety, and In Fusio. Vidal later served as managing director at Kelkoo, and after Yahoo! acquired Kelkoo in 2004, he became Managing Director of Yahoo! Europe until 2007. In 2007, he joined Index Ventures in London as a partner, where he has been involved with various portfolio companies, including ASOS. He sits on the boards of Adconion, Be2, Criteo, Metapack, Navabi, Outbrain, and Squarespace, and is a non-executive director at Techmedia.

Personal:
He is married to Isabelle Vidal and they have three children.
