Carex lonchocarpa
Carex lonchocarpa, the southern long sedge, is a flowering plant in the Cyperaceae family. It is native to Texas and the southeastern United States. A perennial, it grows to about 4 feet (120 cm) tall and is found in wet habitats on sandy, peat, or acidic soils. Its scientific name is Carex lonchocarpa, with the authority Willd. ex Spreng. Synonyms include Carex folliculata var. australis and Carex smalliana.
