CEM Trans Services
CEM Trans Services, Inc. (Crisinciano E. Mahilac Transport Services, Inc.) is a city bus company in the Philippines. It is part of the Mahilac Group and is known for using the Road Runner logo. The company operates routes in and around Metro Manila, including Quezon City, Valenzuela City, and San Jose del Monte in Bulacan. Its headquarters are in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. CEM Trans is a sister company of Joanna Jesh Transport.
Etymology
- CEM stands for Crisinciano E. Mahilac, the founder of the group’s bus businesses.
History
- Founded in October 2007 by Crisinciano E. Mahilac, who also runs Joanna Jesh Transport and other Mahilac Group companies.
- Started with non-air-conditioned buses on the FTI-SM Fairview route and later expanded to other routes such as FTI-Grotto (San Jose del Monte) and NAIA-Grotto.
- Grew its fleet through acquisitions, including Daewoo buses from Renan Transit, and later moved toward air-conditioned Nissan Diesel and Iveco models.
- Expanded routes over the years, including Alabang-Malanday and Alabang-Navotas, with updates to services as newer buses were added.

- Also operated Alabang-Malanday and Alabang-Navotas routes; routes have evolved with new buses over time.

- Includes both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned units; recently acquired Daewoo units from Renan Transit and other newer buses like Volvo B7RLE, Daewoo BF106, Daewoo BS106, and Iveco CC150.
Incidents
- February 2, 2008: A CEM Trans bus on the Alabang-Malanday route flipped at Quirino Highway in Caloocan, injuring about 20 passengers.
- An incident near Nichols station involving a bus and a Philippine National Railways train led to injuries and driver charges after passengers panicked.
- 2009: A conductor on a CEM Trans unit was accused of improper conduct toward a disabled passenger; the operator expelled the conductor.
Trivia
- The Road Runner logo is associated with CEM Trans, symbolizing speed on the EDSA corridor. Metro Manila road speed limits for buses are commonly around 80 km/h.
Recent updates
- The fleet increasingly uses Nissan Diesel and Iveco buses, with Daewoo non-air-conditioned units from Renan Transit. The company continued expanding routes and updating its fleet with newer, air-conditioned buses.
