Bourne Academy

Bourne Academy is a co-educational secondary school and academy for students aged 11 to 18. It is located in Bourne, Lincolnshire, England, and currently has about 1,150 pupils. The headteacher is Principal Lucy Conley. The school is part of the South Lincolnshire Academies Trust (SLAT), which also includes Spalding Academy and Giles Academy in Boston.

The academy sits on Edinburgh Crescent, next to the Bourne Leisure Centre.

The school’s badge features the Wake knot, a heraldic symbol connected to the Wake family, who were historic Lords of the Manor of Bourne.

History in brief:
- Bourne Academy began as part of Star Lane Board School. After the Education Act 1944, the secondary section moved to its own site in 1946.
- In 1958, permanent buildings opened on Edinburgh Crescent, and the school became Bourne County Secondary School.
- In 1987 the name changed to Robert Manning School in honour of Robert Mannyng.
- The sixth form started in 1988 with 13 students; a new extension opened in 1989.
- In 1999 the school gained Technology College status and was renamed Robert Manning Technology College.
- In 2007 it became Robert Manning College, adding a second specialist in Vocational Education.
- In 2012 the school became Bourne Academy when it converted to academy status.
