The Betty and Milton Katz Jewish Community Center, often called the Katz JCC or the JCC, is a Jewish community center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. It offers Jewish cultural, educational, and community programs for families, children, teens, and adults.
History
- Founded in the 1940s with facilities in Camden and Pennsauken, New Jersey.
- As the community grew, a new Katz JCC building opened in 1997 on the Weinberg Campus in Cherry Hill, at the corner of Springdale and Kresson Roads, across from Temple Emanuel.
- The JCC Camps at Medford began in 1942. The camps cover 120 acres and are among the largest Jewish day camps in North America.
- The center was named by philanthropist Lewis Katz in memory of his parents, Betty and Milton Katz.
