Battleship Parkway, commonly known as the Causeway, is a 7-mile (11.3 km) road that carries US Route 90 and US Route 98 across Mobile Bay in Alabama. It links Blakeley Island in Mobile to Spanish Fort and is a four-lane divided highway for most of its length. The causeway is prone to flooding during hurricanes and storm surges. It is home to Battleship Memorial Park and many of Mobile’s popular seafood restaurants. Coordinates are about 30.6748°N, 87.9658°W.

History:
It opened in 1926 and was built as raised earthen embankments and concrete bridges. For many years, it was the only road link between Mobile County and Baldwin County across Mobile Bay until Jubilee Parkway opened in 1978. In 2007, a 3.4-mile turtle fence was added along part of the causeway to protect the Alabama red-bellied cooter from traffic.
