Associação Esportiva Jataiense is a Brazilian football club from Jataí, Goiás. Founded on January 11, 1952, it is one of the state's traditional teams. The club is known as Raposa do Sudoeste (Fox of the Southwest). Its colors are green and white, and its mascot is a fox. Home games are played at Estádio Municipal Jerônimo Ferreira Fraga, better known as Arapucão, which can hold about 18,000 spectators.

History
The club began as an amateur team in 1952, with Jerônimo Ferreira Fraga as its first president. In the 1950s–1970s it competed mainly in local and regional events. Jataiense turned professional in 1983, competing in the Campeonato Goiano Second Division and moving up and down between divisions through the 1980s. After a period of inactivity in the 1990s, the club returned in the early 2000s and enjoyed its most notable state run in 2004, reaching the final quadrangular of the Campeonato Goiano and making its first appearance in the Brasileirão Série C. The team also participated in the Série C again in 2006.

The 2010s brought restructuring and a hopeful revival. In 2016 a Deliberative Council was formed, and in 2017 the club was reinstated by the Goiás Football Federation, resuming competition in the state’s Third Division. In 2020, Jataiense won the Campeonato Goiano Second Division and earned promotion to the First Division. The club faced relegation in 2022 but bounced back in 2023, and in 2024 finished mid-table in the Goiano First Division. The 2025 season saw a quick, hard-to-assemble squad reach the quarterfinals of the Campeonato Goiano, where they were edged by Vila Nova, the eventual champion.
