Rudolph Lexow (January 10, 1823 – July 16, 1909) was a German‑American writer and editor. He was born in Tönning, in the Duchy of Schleswig, which was then part of Denmark. He studied at the University of Kiel and participated in the revolutions of 1848 in Germany. After the revolutions, he fled to England, where he married Caroline King in Hull. They later moved to the United States and settled in New York City, where Lexow started the Belletristisches Journal in 1852.

Rudolph and Caroline Lexow had several children, including Charles King Lexow, a New York City attorney and state senator, and Clarence Lexow. Their granddaughter Caroline Lexow Babcock became a well-known suffragist and pacifist.

Lexow wrote histories about the American Civil War and about the Revolutions of 1848 in Germany. He died in New York City in 1909. Some sources list his birth year as 1821.
