James Morgan (gridiron football)

James Morgan (born February 28, 1997) is an American football quarterback for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Bowling Green and Florida International before being drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft.

Early life
Morgan grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and attended Ashwaubenon High School. He played basketball as well as football, and won a state championship in the 4x400 meter relay. He has spoken about plans to pursue law school after football.

College career
A three-star recruit from Ashwaubenon, Morgan chose Bowling Green to play for coach Dino Babers. He redshirted in 2015. After Babers left, he played under Mike Jinks and later transferred to FIU as a graduate transfer, which allowed him to be eligible immediately. He finished his college career with FIU in 2018–2019 and participated in the 2020 East–West Shrine Bowl, earning an invite to the NFL Combine.
