Colegio Villa María (Peru)
Colegio Villa María is a private Catholic girls’ school in Lima, Peru. It has two campuses: Villa María Miraflores and Villa María La Planicie, located in the Miraflores and La Molina districts. The school is run by the Congregation of the Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and classes are taught in Spanish and English. The program is based on Christian values and a Marian spirit.
History
The project began in 1922 when church leaders in Lima and Philadelphia planned an English-speaking Catholic school. Classes started on March 15, 1923, with about 80 students. In 1924 the school’s land was purchased, and construction followed, with the facilities inaugurated on March 21, 1926. In 1962, work began on a new secondary campus in La Planicie, which opened in 1965.
