Auritella
Auritella is a genus of fungi in the family Inocybaceae. It includes seven species found in temperate Australia and tropical Africa. The genus was described in 2006 by Brandon Matheny and Neil Bougher. The first publication listed the names provisionally, and a proper formal description followed later that year.
In a 2019 molecular study, Auritella was shown to be closely related to a lineage that gave rise to Inocybe subgenus Mallocybe and Tubariomyces, while Inosperma branched off earlier from their common ancestor.
