Triveni is a rural municipality in Salyan District, Karnali Province, in western-central Nepal. In 1991, 3,789 people lived there in 710 households. By 2011, the population had grown to 16,647. Most people speak Nepali (99.4%), with small numbers speaking Magar (0.3%), Urdu (0.2%), Newar (0.1%), or other languages (0.1%).

Ethnicity/caste: 54.7% Chhetri, 26.7% Magar, 7.8% Kami, 3.3% Sanyasi/Dasnami, 2.1% Sarki, 2.0% Damai/Dholi, 1.3% Hill Brahmin, 0.9% Newar, 0.5% Thakuri, 0.4% Muslim, 0.2% Badi, 0.1% Tharu, 0.1% others.

Religion: 97.3% Hindu, 1.8% Christian, 0.5% Buddhist, 0.4% Muslim.

Literacy: 65.1% can read and write, 3.0% can only read, 31.8% cannot read or write. Time zone: Nepal Time (UTC+5:45).
