Telegraphkhaneh, also called the Postkhaneh, was a building in Tehran that housed a post and telegraph museum. It was built in Toopkhaneh Square during Reza Shah’s era. After Reza Shah’s coronation, Tehran’s mayor Karim Buzarjomehri redesigned Toopkhaneh Square with help from a Russian architect, inspired by a square in Saint Petersburg. The Telegraphkhaneh stood in three sections, about 150 meters long, facing the Tehran Municipality Palace. It had a columned entrance and a dome with a square base, supported by 22 decorative columns. The building was demolished in 1970 for unknown reasons, around the same time as the Municipality Palace.
