St Bernard's High School, Westcliff-on-Sea
St Bernard's High School is a Catholic girls' secondary school in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. It has a mixed sixth form for older students.
The school began as St Bernard's Convent High School in 1910, on land where a Catholic school had stood since 1875. It celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2010. It became an academy in 2011, and it has carried Specialist Arts status (since 2004) and Specialist Science status (since 2008).
Motto: Love one another as I have loved you. The school emblem shows three swords inside a double diamond, with the words Dieu Mon Abri, meaning God Is My Shelter in French.
There are six forms each year for students aged 11–18 (years 7–11) and six houses: Annay, Clairvaux, Fountains, Melrose, Rievaulx and Hyning.
Headteacher: Allison Moise-Dixon. The school is located on Milton Road and is part of Southend-on-Sea local authority.
