Ibrahim Mubarak (born 1952) is an Emirati writer and storyteller from Umm Suqeim in Dubai. He grew up near the sea and palm trees, watching a fishing village grapple with hard life, and he saw how the oil boom later brought big changes. In the 1970s, influenced by these shifts, he pursued education to improve his life and his community. He earned a teaching diploma, a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Master’s in Education from United Arab Emirates University. Mubarak worked as a teacher, an administrative supervisor, and school administrator, later leading the Education Section in Dubai’s Education District and the Sports Education Section at the Ministry of Education and Youth. He is active in the Emirates Writers Union, the Cultural and Scientific Association, the Emirates Scout Association, and the Teachers Association, and writes for Al-Ittihad, Al-Bayan, and Al-Ahwal Magazine.

His writing began in high school when he joined the Al-Nasr club’s Cultural Committee to raise social awareness. He read widely, and the club library helped his growth. He has published many books, studies, and poetry, including a five-story collection. His first story, published in 1974 as Tharybat Al-Matharib, dealt with the subjugation of women and drew on Arab nationalist ideas of the time. Mubarak often uses his coastal hometown of Jumeirah as a setting, saying a child here first hears the sea. He has also contributed to school curricula, including the first-grade story Saif wa Al-Gargoor for over seven years, and Beaks. He has participated in Scouts activities and attended many conferences in Arab and international cities.
