Florida District
Florida is a district in the Siquirres canton, Limón province, Costa Rica. It was created on September 19, 1911. The district covers 82.76 square kilometers and sits about 160 meters above sea level. In 2011, 2,184 people lived there, giving a population density of about 26 people per square kilometer. The postal code is 70303. Florida shares with Siquirres the Reventazón Hydroelectric Project, the largest dam in Central America, built on the Reventazón River by the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE). The dam is a major local tourist attraction.
