Fischer's guiara
Fischer's guiara (Euryzygomatomys spinosus) is a species of spiny rat found in Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. It is one of two species in the genus Euryzygomatomys. It has a karyotype of 2n=46 and FN=88. Its conservation status is Least Concern (IUCN 3.1), and its temporal range is Pleistocene to Present. Taxonomy: Kingdom Animalia; Phylum Chordata; Class Mammalia; Order Rodentia; Family Echimyidae; Subfamily Euryzygomatomyinae. Binomial name Euryzygomatomys spinosus, described by G. Fischer in 1814.
