Emil Adolf Rossmässler
Emil Adolf Roßmäßler (also Emil Adolph Roßmäßler) was a German biologist born March 3, 1806, in Leipzig, where he died on April 8, 1867. He helped popularize science in 19th‑century Germany. In 1852 he co-founded the journal Die Natur with Otto Eduard Vincenz Ule and Karl Johann August Müller. In 1859 he was the sole editor of the journal Aus der Heimath. He was an early writer on building and maintaining freshwater aquariums. He edited the exsiccata Plantae Lipsienses, Weidanae et Tharandtinae around 1831.
