Dennis Șerban
Dennis Şerban, born January 5, 1976 in Bucharest, is a Romanian former footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He started at Farul Constanţa and Portul Constanţa before joining Steaua București in 1996, helping the team win the Romanian league in 1997 and 1998 and compete in the UEFA Champions League. In 1999 he moved to Valencia in Spain, but struggled for playing time and spent time on loan at Villarreal and Elche, with a standout season at Elche (35 games, 11 goals). After a brief return to Valencia, he was sent to Rapid București on loan in 2002, then played for Córdoba and Poli Ejido in Spain. He returned to Romania in 2004 to play for Petrolul Ploieşti and Dinamo București. In 2005 he moved to Greece with AEL, helping them win promotion, and later played for Larissa. He rejoined Dinamo București in 2006 but was released in early 2007; he then began coaching, working with Astra Ploiești and Farul Constanţa, later becoming Farul Constanţa’s technical director. Internationally, Şerban earned 13 caps for Romania and scored one goal. His club career totals include 273 appearances and 49 goals.
