Cudillero (Asturian: Cuideiru) is a coastal municipality in the Principality of Asturias, Spain. It’s famous for its colorful fishing villages and is often listed as one of Spain’s most beautiful places. Today, tourism and fishing are its main activities. Some locals still speak Pixueto, a local dialect of Spanish, along with standard Spanish.

History in brief: The area has very old traces from the Castro culture and early hillforts. The port and town were first mentioned in the 13th century. For many centuries it was part of Pravia, and it became an independent municipality in the 19th century. The port was rebuilt in the late 20th century, and the road to Galicia was modernized. The Camino de la Costa, the northern Way of Saint James, passes through Cudillero. Pilgrims can stay at the Soto de Luiña pilgrim hostel.

Parishes: Cudillero comprises nine parishes.

People and size: About 4,867 residents (as of 2025) live in an area of 100.78 square kilometers. The people are called pixuetu or pixueta.
