Clement Mulenga
Clement Mulenga is a Zambian Catholic bishop who leads the Diocese of Kabwe. He was appointed bishop on 29 October 2011 by Pope Benedict XVI.
He was born on 15 August 1965 in Dismashi, in the Archdiocese of Kasama, Zambia. He grew up in his home area, completed his early schooling there, and finished high school in Luwingu, Northern Province. He joined the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco (Salesians of Don Bosco). From 2001 to 2004, he studied at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome and earned a licentiate in Youth Ministry and Catechesis. He took his perpetual vows on 25 August 1996 in Nairobi, Kenya, and was ordained a priest on 25 August 1998. He served as a Salesian priest until his 2011 appointment as bishop.
On 29 October 2011, the Diocese of Kabwe was created, and he became its first bishop. He was consecrated as a bishop on 17 December 2011 by Archbishop Telesphore George Mpundu, with Cardinal Medardo Mazombwe and Bishop Ignatius Chama assisting. In 2018, he served as the chairman of the National Pastoral Commission for the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops.
