Bobby Tait, born Robert James Tait on 4 October 1938 in Edinburgh, Scotland, was a Scottish professional footballer who played mainly as an inside forward in the Football League. He began his career with Loanhead Mayflower, then played for Aberdeen (2 appearances), Elgin City, Notts County (60 appearances, 11 goals), Barrow (79 appearances, 27 goals), and Chesterfield (28 appearances, 2 goals). He also had a spell with Arnold. In total, he made 169 league appearances and scored 40 goals. Tait died on 2 May 2024 in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, England, aged 85.
