Allum Green is a small hamlet southwest of Lyndhurst in Hampshire, England. During the night of 5–6 September 1940, German bombs fell on the area in World War II. Four British Army soldiers from the Royal Army Ordnance Corps were killed and 14 were injured. The bombs struck Allum Green House, which still exists as a private home, and a memorial bench was erected nearby in 1980 by the soldiers’ comrades. Historically, Raleigh from Journey's End is said to have lived there, and Vera Brittain bought Allum Green Cottage in May 1939.
