Agata Kulesza (born 27 September 1971) is a Polish actress who appears in film, television, and on stage. She grew up in Szczecin and decided she wanted to be an actress while in high school. She graduated from the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw in 1994 and then acted at the Teatr Dramatyczny in Warsaw.

Kulesza made her film debut in 1993 with a leading role in Człowiek z… She later had roles in films such as Poznań ’56 and Moje pieczone kurczaki (2002), which helped her rise. Her breakthrough came with the war drama Rose (2011), for which she won Poland’s top acting prize, the Polish Academy Award for Best Actress. In 2013 she starred in Ida, earning widespread critical acclaim and winning awards from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and the Chlotrudis Society, as well as a second Polish Academy Award for Best Actress.

She has appeared in many notable projects, including These Daughters of Mine (2015), The Innocents (2016), Cold War (2018), The Hater (2020), Never Gonna Snow Again (2020), and Green Border (2023). For her work, Kulesza has won four Polish Film Awards and received numerous nominations. In 2014 she was awarded the Order of Polonia Restituta and the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture.

Kulesza is also a stage actor with the Ateneum Theatre in Warsaw and has done extensive television work. She was married to cameraman Marcin Figurski from 2006 to 2020, and they have a daughter named Marianna, born in 1997. She lives in Warsaw and remains an important figure in Polish film and theatre.
