The 2017–18 American International Yellow Jackets men’s ice hockey season was the program’s 70th season, its 22nd at the Division I level, and its 15th in Atlantic Hockey. Coached by Eric Lang in his second year, AIC started slowly, winning only 1 of their first 9 games. In mid-November they named freshman Stefano Durante the starting goalie, and the team’s defense improved enough to help them win more games. Offense remained not strong, but better defense and goaltending made the team more competitive.

AIC finished 8th in Atlantic Hockey, their best finish in over a decade, and earned their first home playoff game since 1990. They faced Niagara in the postseason and swept the series in two games, earning their first playoff series win in 11 years. The 15 wins were the most the program had since joining Division I in 1999. The turnaround was helped by freshmen Brennan Kapcheck and Stefano Durante, who provided the program with a promising foundation for the future.

Season at a glance: overall 15–20–4, conference 11–13–4, home 9–7–1, road 6–13–3. Captain was Bryant Christian, with alternates Shawn McBride and Hugo Reinhardt. The team played its home games at the MassMutual Center.
