The 2011 College Basketball Invitational (CBI) was a 16-team, single-elimination tournament for teams that did not participate in the NCAA Tournament or the NIT. It began on March 15, with a best-of-three championship series played on March 28, 30, and April 1.

Oregon won the title by defeating Creighton in the finals after dropping game one but winning the next two games at home. This gave the Oregon Ducks their first CBI championship. Dana Altman, in his first year as Oregon’s coach, led the team, and Joevan Catron of Oregon was named the tournament MVP.

The other semifinalists were Boise State and UCF. The finals were hosted at venues in Omaha, Nebraska, and Eugene, Oregon, with Oregon hosting games 2 and 3 of the final series at Matthew Knight Arena. This was the second time a Pac-10 team won the CBI while entering with a losing record, following Oregon State in 2009. Altman had coached Creighton the year before.
