1989 Moyle District Council election
The Moyle District Council election was held on 17 May 1989, the same day as other Northern Ireland local elections. Three district electoral areas elected a total of 15 councillors, with results based on first-preference votes.
Party results:
- SDLP: 4 seats
- DUP: 3 seats
- UUP: 2 seats
- Independent: 2 seats
- Independent Unionist: 2 seats
- Sinn Féin: 1 seat
- Independent Nationalist: 1 seat
Change from 1985:
- Independents gained a seat from Sinn Féin.
- Independent Unionists, DUP, and UUP all stayed the same as in 1985. The SDLP also stayed the same in overall numbers.
